PetRescue Ltd has been recognised for Outstanding Achievement in The Australian Charity Awards 2021. The Australian Charity Award for Outstanding Achievement [OAA] recognises charitable organisations that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that have significantly benefited charitable causes.

“We’re forever pushing forward knowing that there’s still such a long way to go until every pet in Australia is safe, respected, and loved, so we’re grateful for this opportunity to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made, the impact we’ve had, and to celebrate how far we’ve come.
“This year we reached a milestone of helping more than 719,000 pets on their journeys to find homes. We did this by staying true to our mission and continuing to do what we’re good at; moving fast, embracing innovation, challenging ideas, leveraging technology, and championing for change. Launching a new pilot program during a global pandemic to help create a new avenue to help pets was ambitious, but our passion to help pets kept us moving forward.

PetRescue is a national animal welfare charity with a vision to create a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved. In 2004, PetRescue launched the first of its kind pet adoption website in Australia, helping find temporary or permanent homes for vulnerable pets. www.PetRescue.com.au has helped enable the adoption of more than 719,196 pets.
After decades of work in this space, pet adoption has now become a mainstream option. Today, PetRescue is the most visited charity website and the most popular and trusted platform to search for a rescue pet. Hundreds of reputable rescue groups, shelters, vets and pounds use the platform to find suitable homes for pets in their care.
Most known for the pet adoption platform and for having a positive impact using innovation and technology to drive change, PetRescue also provides a raft of life-saving programs and services. Mainstay programs include large scale food donations, pet transport programs, and product donations. These initiatives have provided more than $10.5 million dollars worth of support to help the rescue community and pets in need.
PetRescue has also continued to develop tools and digital support for the rescue community. Rescue admins can manage pet listings, adoption enquiries, and fundraise online through PetRescue.
In response to the global pandemic’s impact on the animal welfare sector, PetRescue once again looked to innovate. This time, by leveraging the capability of the digital platform to transform the pet adoption space and launching a pilot program, Home2Home. The success of the pilot as a safe and supportive alternative to surrendering has resulted in it becoming a mainstay program to stay. Home2Home provides a safe option to help owners find new homes for their pets directly with the support and assistance of PetRescue.
Together, we’re helping to prevent pets from entering the rescue system, providing peace of mind for the owners, and alleviating the pressure for rescue organisations who can then have the capacity to continue to help the pets that are most vulnerable and in-need.
