Lateral has been recognised as an ABA100® Winner for Business Technology in The Australian Business Awards 2016. The Australian Business Award for Business Technology recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in business technology management.

Lateral, based in Perth and Melbourne, have evolved since 1986 from selling hardware to developing custom software and building mobile apps for businesses. Lateral solve their client’s business problems, ranging from small businesses to large enterprises locally, nationally and internationally.

Lateral was engaged to develop a bespoke Software Solution called ‘AHG123’ for the client Automotive Holdings Group (AHG), which has been one of Lateral’s biggest technological achievements. AHG123 is a nationwide mobile app on iPhone and Android for AHG customers and dealerships alike. The system integrates AHG data, including dealerships and their inventory, with the mobile experience for customers who can book services, browse inventory and rate dealership experiences.

One of the main indicators to show the success of the app was the uptake and investment of the Dealerships. Initially reluctant to get involved in the solution, their acceptance of the completed product, and acknowledgement of its benefits in managing their inventory and customer base, proved to be a big win for AHG. Dealership staff are motivated to provide even better customer service, with the ‘Rate my Experience’ option. Booking a service or test drive can now be done by the customer at their own leisure, instant address and call out details for AHG Roadside Assist allows responders to rapidly assist, and customers can now browse available vehicle stock at specific dealerships whenever they like. Customers can also manage their own vehicle in their custom garage and even get an appraisal of their own vehicle’s worth. The AHG123 App also allows AHG to undertake target marketing on specific groups by advising their customers of deals and sales at the push of a button.

Lateral prides itself on hitting the three points of customer service; quality, value for money and time to deliver. With AHG123, the achievement of all three was recognised by the AHG stakeholders and has led to future phases of work between AHG and Lateral with the roadmap of AHG123.
