Established in 1985, Compass is a not-for-profit organisation whose primarily aim is to alleviate the hardship of housing stress for low-to-moderate income earning households. They do this by providing secure and affordable housing, as well as delivering housing products to disadvantaged people.

Compass continuously work to increase the supply of housing for their potential clients, whilst maintaining the housing assets and assisting clients in sustaining their tenancies. People, Place, Performance (PPP) is the Compass Housing approach to tenancy and asset management. Compass delivers many services in addition to their housing function to support tenants in maintaining their tenancies, to create sustainable housing communities and to enable resident’s access to wider services. Compass fund and facilitate many different programmes to provide opportunities for motivating and inspiring communities. Their community projects endeavour to encourage tenants and the wider community to participate in social and educational events, where the aim is to improve morale by providing certainty and giving confidence to all the participants.

One of their successful initiatives is the Central Coast Community Hub which provides tenants with access to tenancy and other community related support services. The Hubs offer residents a place to meet, socialise and volunteer. Additionally, it offers a location for external agencies to meet with tenants and provide services which meet their needs. The 123 Hub now provides the opportunity to facilitate a range of services which encourages locals to support each other. The 123 Hub is not only accessed by tenants, but it is available to the broader community.
