Innovation drove GlobalX’s establishment, and continues to drive its success today. Founded more than 20 years ago in 1994, GlobalX was a pioneer as the first company to provide online access to Australian land titles to property and legal professionals.
More than two decades on, GlobalX is now one of Australia’s most successful and fast-moving tech start-ups. The organisation specialises in the provision of innovative software, online regulatory information and legal support services to service Australia’s legal, conveyancing, accounting and financial sectors.
Led by CEO Peter Maloney and with more than 220 staff across a network of seven offices, it has become one of the industry’s most respected digital disrupters. Each day, tens of thousands of professionals around Australia trust GlobalX’s suite of software and online solutions to manage their time more effectively and access regulatory, legislative and compliance information, support services and technology tools – all via one integrated solution.
Introduced by GlobalX in 2018, IDSecure is a compliant, easy-touse and electronic Verification of Identity (VOI) solution designed for legal and conveyancing professionals to confirm their clients’ identity. IDSecure gives the conveyancer or legal practitioner the ability to capture data and supporting evidence on any mobile or tablet device, at any time, regardless of location. Within seconds, an industry recognised and compliant VOI report is created and stored against the matter, with the option of automatic billing straight to the client file.
As part of the move to align electronic and paper conveyancing, Land Registrars have formalised their policies on VOI. These policies ensure security and integrity of conveyancing practice by reducing the risk of identity fraud or registration of fraudulent land transactions for paper-based dealings.
Lawyers and conveyancers who are looking to save time, increase workflow efficiency and mitigate the risk of property fraud now have access to a new identity verification tool – the IDSecure App. Launched to the market in January 2019, the IDSecure App is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. It can be used on any mobile device to quickly assess, verify and record a client’s identity. The new mobile app is smart by design, offering guided workflow to help legal professionals easily meet their legislative obligations when undertaking a property transaction.
The IDSecure App has the option of selecting intuitive Australian Registrars’ National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC) compliant workflow or taking a Reasonable Steps approach, meaning the compliance process is streamlined for lawyers and conveyancers verifying property buyers and sellers.
The web-based platform and the IDSecure App enables legal and conveyancing professionals to meet their legislative requirements while consequently gaining significant efficiencies in their processes.
