We are proud to have received the award for mobile innovation. The CarelinkGo Smartphone application has played a vital role in enabling Australia’s community care providers to offer more assistance to their clients by saving time spent by mobile care workers on accessing rostering information and completing admin tasks such as timesheets, notes, updating client data, etc. The Award is a recognition of the efforts put in by our team and the journey they have undertaken in developing a solution that adds value to our customers.

Craig Porte, Managing Director, Civica

Civica is a market-leading specialist in business-critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services that help teams and organisations around the world to transform the way they work. Civica combines exceptional customer focus and experience with commitment to provide digital technology and automation behind essential everyday services to more than 3,000 organisations in 10 countries, thereby impacting around 100 million people and businesses worldwide.

In the past few years Civica experienced exponential growth driven by its corporate strategy focusing on products, customers, people and acquisitions. Acquisitions are a core element of Civica’s global strategy to add complementary capability and to increase scale in order to respond to market opportunity. In line with this strategy, in August 2018, Civica acquired Icon Global, an Australian community care software business providing with the market-leading Carelink suite of products, and recently announced the purchase of Asset Edge and its cloud and mobile suite of asset management products for councils and state governments.

With over 20 years of experience in the community care business, the Civica Care team have been helping organisations to provide low-cost and high quality services with their purpose built client management system. The Carelink product suite has provided efficiency in enquiries, rostering, client and employee management, reporting, integration with widely used third-party systems, electronic time sheeting, forms management, award interpretation and much more.

CarelinkGo is a smartphone application known as the time and attendance app (T&A app) that helps care organisations save time and money, which can then be put back into caregiving. It connects a mobile workforce with client information, notes, documents, goals, reminders, tasks, maps, and their roster, minimising back office processing of paperwork. The care workers can log in and start & end shifts right from their smartphone device which is then Award Interpreted and processed automatically for payroll purposes.

A key point of differentiation offered by the CarelinkGo app is its offline capability. Most competitor apps do not support this functionality as it is complex, as well as difficult to synchronise data back without impacting performance and data integrity. However, understanding that many caregivers travel to areas with limited or no connectivity, the team decided that offline functionality was essential to streamlining admin regardless of location. Carers can provide services, get signatures from clients, capture additional information from the client based on service provided and then get the shift auto-approved from the backend, which reduces administration costs resulting in a cohesive end-to-end flow of information.

With the advent of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), many community and disability care providers began to re-imagine the way they wanted to deliver services to their clients. This meant that caregivers and support workers often spent time in the field, at times for days together, without access to systems for essential administration processing.

The CarelinkGo application has already transformed staff operations for many community care providers. The app saves time by eliminating office data entry and reducing the number of roster enquiries. This has resulted in cost savings and more focus on care giving.
