eCommunications / Unified Networks

eCommunications and Unified Networks has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Project Management in The Australian Business Awards 2020. The Australian Business Award for Project Management [PMA] recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that demonstrate excellence in project management.

eComms was established over 25 years ago to service organisations that require telecommunications solutions. With specialised IT and Telecommunications staff servicing businesses across Australia, eComms have the capacity to solve the most complex voice and data related issues. Direct relationships with vendors including Mitel, Cisco, Huawei, MicroTik, Draytek, Yealink, Ubiquiti and others ensure we provide and support leading edge hardware solutions.

Its highly trained network engineers and knowledgeable support staff can rapidly solve any issue. With skills and technical knowledge that traverse a range of ICT disciplines including Windows, Linux, networking (routing/switching), networking applications (firewalls, load balancing, security) and virtualisation solution.

The initiative submitted outlined the planning phase which enabled eComms to gain a granular understanding of the required user and system setup, an opportunity to outline the technical prerequisites for building the Mitel cloud solution and strategise mitigation plans for newly identified risks. The assessment included assessing the probability of a risk eventuating, the impact this would have, mitigation plans to reduce risk and what contingencies were needed in case risks were realised. Each risk was re-assessed on a regular basis, and a risk treatment/mitigation plan(s) was in place. Risks were logged and managed at the project level but could be identified or managed by anyone.

The implementation of the Mitel solution by eComms – a significant transition in terms of technology and culture shift – was made easier by the collaborative and collective experience eComms brought to the table, its high quality of its problem solving ability, understanding of the Mitel technology solution, and liaisons with the external communication bodies and suppliers. Unified Networks was responsible for delivering the redundant WAN service.
