Gripfast Consulting
Gripfast Consulting has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Project Management in The Australian Business Awards 2020. The Australian Business Award for Project Management [PMA] recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that demonstrate excellence in project management.
Gripfast Consulting’s foundations are built on the combined experience of its Directors and team in providing program and project management support through all phases of a project from inception to handover. The team has worked with various industry clients over the past years within education, tertiary education, retail, hospitality, specialised training and infrastructure, aged care and high care sectors. Gripfast offer clients a secure, low-risk project management option that represents true value-for-money, having significant experience managing project-related risk and developing innovative ideas that are supported by independently certified systems and highly qualified multi-disciplined staff.
Further, Gripfast has developed its own project delivery model called the GripfastPMM® which emphasises a risk-based approach to delivery as well as emphasising the ‘scientific method’ which ensures decisions are based on analysis and fact rather than speculation. Gripfast requires that all its staff are professionally qualified in construction-related disciplines and as project managers. In addition, all its project managers must be certified by the Australian Institute of Project Management, noting the Managing Director, David McGuire, sat on the board as the National Director of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) until recently and he was previously the Queensland President for AIPM.
Gripfast is the only independent project management firm in Queensland that holds quad-international standards certification. The Gripfast Business Management System (BMS) integrates Quality Assurance, Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management and Environmental Management. The BMS has been certified for its Quality Management System – ISO 9001:2015; OHS Management System – ISO 45001:2018; Environment Management System – ISO 14001:2015; and Risk Management System – ISO 31000:2018. These systems are reinforced by the compulsory licences and certifications required by the Queensland Building & Construction Commission (Contractor – Project Management Services) and the Department of Housing & Public Works (PQC3) to act as a construction Project Manager/Superintendent in Queensland.
The Gripfast team take pride in introducing clients to different relationship-based models for delivering projects that reduce project risk and assist in achieving tight budgets and often tighter timelines. These contracts help reduce risk by expediting cooperation between the client, the design team and the contractor to achieve a successful project outcome.
Gripfast, like many others, recognised the impact that the built environment has on health, wellbeing and learning: educational facilities need to be conducive to learning but also accessible and functional for all students, including student accommodation. By writing “High Care Building Design: A Best Practice Guide” specifically for those in the community that need higher levels of access and care, Gripfast set themselves apart from the pack and have been recognised by UQ, Mater Health, Government and the construction industry as leading this field. The guidelines support AS1428 and the QLD Government’s Policies. By combining a deep understanding of building for accessibility and wellbeing with expert knowledge of an early contractor involvement model, Gripfast can build accommodation, educational facilities and other built forms, for their clients that are pragmatic, cost effective and co-designed with all key stakeholders.
