Method – Transforming Reporting
The Australian Tax Office (ATO) has been applying a Justified Tax methodology to corporate taxpayers since 2016, with the introduction of the OECD Country by Country Reporting (CbC) obligations. The ATO seeks assurance in four key areas while it builds and maintains community confidence that Australia’s largest taxpayers meet their obligations and pay fair tax.

As a result, Wolters Kluwer adapted and created a development initiative so that CCH Integrator would support customers to prepare and submit their CbC Reporting obligations. As a purpose-built solution it quickly evolves to assist taxpayers meet constantly evolving regulatory requirements based on an acknowledged trustworthy, robust and configurable business management software platform.

A culture and strategy of continuous improvement means that even as new regulations are rolled out Wolters Kluwer confirms through close collaboration with industry and government that CCH Integrator remains fit for purpose.

CCH Integrator already automates processes to develop a seamless flow of data so that low-value activities and the double handling of information is minimised. The platform’s robust configurability and integrity can perform analysis, freeing employees to focus on values activities that add value to their organisation.

Broadly, platform enhancements include:
> Workpapers – a series of additional formulas, configuration, data mapping and data carry forward options and capabilities
> Reports – new standard reports for key tax calculations and
> Security – wide ranging improvements and the ability for workbooks to be automatically locked when complete

In 2021, Wolters Kluwer released solutions for Australian Direct Tax Compliance, Australian Local File (including significant regulatory change) and the CCH Lodgement Portal. As well as a new Australian Indirect Tax e-Filing solution, which allows customers to prepare, validate and lodge indirect Tax Compliance obligations directly to the ATO.
