ImpactInstitute has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Brand Management in The Australian Business Awards 2024. The Australian Business Award for Brand Management [BMA] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in brand management.

We’re thrilled to be recognised for the unique way we approach brand development and management. Our entire team has played a part in bringing Social Impact Summit to life through beautiful design, across all media, in partnerships and via meaningful activation. The brand’s culmination in an annual event is clearly meeting a genuine need in Australian society to bring government, corporate and social sectors together for good.
Paula Cowan, Managing Director, ImpactInstitute

ImpactInstitute is a professional services firm for purpose-led organisations. A proud B Corp and member of PROI Worldwide, it works with corporate, government and social sector organisations to create meaningful and measurable social change in their communities.

Its 25-strong, cross-disciplinary team achieves this through a unique blend of impact consulting, brand storytelling and events services.

Its office is located on the traditional lands of the Cammeraygal people (Chatswood NSW), and its clients operate across Australia and New Zealand.

The first Social Impact Summit was conducted in Australia in July 2023. The Social Impact Summit is a gathering designed to bring together leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors to foster cross-sector collaboration. This was not just another corporate meeting; it was a catalyst for social change, community connection and brand growth.

The Social Impact Summit was born from a need to address the “S” for Social Impact in the ESG movement. ImpactInstitute identified a latent community of over 30,000 cross-sector professionals who identified as “social impact leaders” but lacked a forum for collective action. The Summit was designed to fill this gap and inspire action towards a fair, inclusive society.

The Summit aimed to create a valuable and transformative experience for all participants and continue to nurture and build that community in the months and years ahead.

This ambitious goal required meticulous planning and execution, from crafting a strong brand identity to establishing a robust marketing campaign, defining the Summit’s purpose and goals, managing event logistics, and following up with attendees and sponsors post-event.

ImpactInstitute’s 25-strong team contributed to the success of the Social Impact Summit, drawing on expertise in impact consulting for program design and speaker network; brand storytelling skills for editorial content, marketing and promotion; and event management capabilities to produce the event.

The Summit offered attendees a unique experience of learning, connection, and inspiration. It attracted over 300 delegates and 63 speakers, and its program comprised Participants who made new connections and gained access to influential individuals across sectors, leading to real-world outcomes.

The Social Impact Summit was a strategic endeavour to bolster ImpactInstitute’s brand recognition. It exceeded expectations, drawing an audience of decision-makers and influencers. Post-event metrics indicated growing brand equity, with 70% of attendees intending to return for the next Summit, a significant increase in newsletter subscriptions, and a spike in LinkedIn followers.

The Summit had a ripple effect on business growth, leading to a steady influx of new projects and partnerships. The anticipation for next year’s Summit is already palpable, underscoring the event’s value and relevance.

Impact Institute’s Social Impact Summit has set a new benchmark for events dealing with social impact. It has significantly enhanced its brand visibility, provided attendees with immense value, and spurred business growth. As ImpactInstitute looks towards the next Summit, it is buoyed by the interest it has already generated and is committed to delivering an even more impactful experience.
