The TechnologyOne Foundation was established in 2016 and is a long-term initiative which represents a multimillion-dollar annual commitment, and which reflects the values, culture and aspirations it seeks to attract in future employees. The Foundation partners with a range of charities and community organisations with a mission to help disadvantaged and vulnerable youth. In addition to providing financial assistance to charity partners, TechnologyOne has also cultivated a strong philanthropic culture of providing time and assistance inside and outside working hours to contribute to the Foundation’s initiatives.
As part of this initiative, TechnologyOne offers all team members 1% time, which offers up to 2.5 days leave per year to volunteer during work hours for registered charitable organisations. The 1% product component involves a donation of 1% of licence fee revenue each year. The 1% profit component commits TechnologyOne to donating 1% of annual profit to its charity partners. Last year the Foundation made direct financial contributions to its charity partners totalling more than $760,000. In addition to providing financial assistance to charity partners, TechnologyOne has also provided over $300,000 worth of software products to not-for-profits and while COVID restrictions significantly impacted corporate volunteering TechnologyOne contributed nearly 500 days inside and outside of working hours.
Many factors have contributed to the success of the TechnologyOne Foundation. Dedicated funds and budget allocated to the Foundation and its initiatives, clearly outlined the charitable targets and a budget for funding. TechnologyOne’s committee approach ensured cross-departmental engagement along with dedicated resourcing, to drive strategy and execution. Enabling employees to volunteer in the community and fundraise to take advantage of the dollar matching program has also contributed to the Foundation’s overall success.
