“We are so honoured to be awarded the ABA100 – HR Management award, specifically for our ‘Becoming a Parent’ program. We dedicate this award to all our hard working and brilliant colleagues at harrison.ai and to all the parents out there. Our People & Culture team works tirelessly to create an impactful employee experience and this award recognises their commitment to our mission.”

Nicole Karagiannis, Chief People & Culture Officer, harrison.ai

Harrison.ai, a Medtech start-up was founded in Sydney by brothers Dr Aengus and Dimitry Tran in 2018. Its first joint venture Annalise.ai is a success and together they employ 250 team members across multiple location including a global presence.

Recognising the demographic and diversity of their employees, harrison.ai’s People & Culture team in partnership with internal and external colleagues, designed and implemented a “Becoming a Parent Policy” that offers support in 5 areas:

1. Gamete (egg and sperm freezing) and IVF financial support, flexibility in work hours and discount in partnership with Virtus Health;

2. Miscarriage and pregnancy loss: leave and access to resources in partnership with the Pink Elephants Support Network;

3. Parental, adoption and fostering leave: 16 weeks paid leave – gender and carer neutral; reimbursement for ultrasounds; grandparent leave;

4. The early days: flexibility in transitioning back to work;

5. School readiness: leave to spend time with their child and to prepare them for school; access to a nutritionist via the wellbeing program.

This initiative has been made possible by a team who deeply cares for one another, who believes in an inclusive workplace and society and who strives for a progressive and innovative mindset in all areas of the business.
