TECHNOCRETE
TECHNOCRETE has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Project Management in The Australian Business Awards 2025. The Australian Business Award for Project Management [PMA] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in project management.
TECHNOCRETE Pty. Ltd. is a Specialised Structural Durability Consulting Engineers firm focused on the assessment, remediation, and durability improvement of critical infrastructure. Operating within the unique niche of both structural and durability engineering, TECHNOCRETE delivers high-quality, customised, and value-driven solutions for a wide range of industries, including water treatment plants. The firm ensures community safety and long-term operational reliability through a
client-focused and innovative approach.
Since 2017, TECHNOCRETE has completed over 300 projects across NSW, VIC, and QLD – maintaining 100% client satisfaction throughout. Its services span the entire project lifecycle – from design of new structures to rehabilitation of existing infrastructures. TECHNOCRETE’s multidisciplinary team can diagnose and recommend remediation methods for steel corrosion, waterproofing, structural strengthening, and extending residual service life. The team combines decades of research and experience with advanced testing techniques to provide solutions that are fully customised to project requirements, compliant with relevant standards, and technically sound.
Albury City Council engaged TECHNOCRETE to conduct a comprehensive structural and durability assessment of 12 Water Reservoirs and 1 Water Treatment Plant. The initiative’s primary objective was to identify the root causes of critical structural defects, estimate the residual service life of the asset, and provide a prioritised, cost-effective repair methodology.
TECHNOCRETE utilised advanced non-destructive testing methods like Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity and Rebound Hammer to evaluate the quality and strength of concrete components. The corrosion state of steel reinforcement within the concrete was also assessed using Galvanostatic Pulse Transient methods. Furthermore, the team extracted representative concrete cores to determine the extent of carbonation-induced corrosion, establishing that corrosion was not a primary failure mechanism.
TECHNOCRETE’s root-cause analysis revealed that ageing infrastructure, soft water attacks, and failures in waterproofing systems primarily contributed to structural damage. The team calculated the impact of observed defects on structural performance and integrity through sophisticated 3D finite element modelling and structural analysis.
The firm provided targeted repair recommendations, highlighting critical defects to optimise budget and resource allocation. This strategy importantly secured long-term cost savings by extending the asset lifespan by 10-20years. In addition, they ensured that the community’s drinking water supply remained free from potential contamination.
TECHNOCRETE’s standardised and data-driven approach transformed reactive maintenance strategies to proactive ones, enhancing clients’ asset management frameworks. Asset owners gain clarity and confidence to make informed decisions on maintenance planning and budget forecasting.
Therefore, TECHNOCRETE plays an important role in the effective management of critical infrastructure. Its efforts further safeguard public health, ensuring uninterrupted access to safe drinking water.
