Amdocs
Amdocs has been selected as an ABA100® Winner for Brand Management in The Australian Business Awards 2025. The Australian Business Award for Brand Management [BMA] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate excellence in brand management.
Amdocs is a global leader in software and services, employing more than 29,000 people and supporting customers in more than 85 countries. For over four decades, Amdocs has been trusted by the world’s leading telecommunications providers to deliver mission-critical platforms and transformation at scale. Today, Amdocs’ solutions span cloud, data, generative AI, digital engineering, and customer experience — capabilities that underpin large-scale innovation in industries where resilience, compliance, and trust are essential. In recent years, the company has expanded beyond its telco roots into sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and media, reflecting its ambition to diversify and extend its expertise into adjacent markets.
In 2021, Amdocs acquired Sourced Group (Sourced), a consultancy with deep expertise in secure cloud transformation. With offices in Singapore, Sydney, London, New York, and Toronto, Sourced had established itself as a trusted partner for enterprise cloud adoption. Its brand carried significant equity, particularly among financial services and enterprise customers who valued its technical excellence and reputation for delivery.
To preserve this equity while preparing for long-term integration, Amdocs initiated a phased brand strategy. For more than 18 months, Sourced operated under the dual identity “Sourced Group – An Amdocs Company.” This approach reassured existing customers and employees that the Sourced identity and culture were being respected, while simultaneously introducing the Amdocs brand into new conversations. The co-branding phase was visible in market through events, sponsorships, and digital channels. For example, at the Future of Financial Services Sydney conference in late 2024, both the Sourced and Amdocs logos were displayed side by side in co-branded assets, reinforcing continuity while signalling the coming transition.
In October 2024, the Sourced logo was updated into Amdocs colours. This subtle but deliberate visual alignment was an important milestone, preparing stakeholders for the full brand sunset and helping position the rebrand as a natural evolution. Social media, LinkedIn campaigns, and digital communications amplified the messaging, ensuring that audiences across geographies were steadily introduced to the new identity.
This transition culminated in Project Eclipse — the formal sunsetting of the Sourced brand and the global launch of Amdocs Studios on 16 May 2025. Project Eclipse was named to reflect the idea of one brand sunsetting while another rose in its place. Amdocs Studios was launched as a multidisciplinary division within Amdocs, bringing together four complementary capabilities:
- Cloud — building on Sourced’s secure enterprise cloud expertise.
- Data & Generative AI — enabling intelligent innovation and insights.
- Digital Engineering — modernising experiences and platforms at scale.
- Quality Engineering — ensuring resilience, compliance, and operational excellence.
The initiative was global in scale, encompassing all regions where Sourced had operated — Australia & New Zealand, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Execution required close coordination across field marketing, corporate communications, brand design, HR, IT, operations, and customer business executives. A steering committee, including the former Managing Director of Sourced (now Head of Cloud Studios), oversaw governance to ensure consistency, mitigate risk, and align messaging.
The transition was carefully staged. Employees were engaged early through town halls, swag programs, and regional events, fostering ownership and pride in the new identity. Customers were briefed individually by account executives, supported by tailored messaging and in-person events that reinforced trust. Strategic partners — including AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud — were proactively managed to ensure certifications, competencies, and programs transitioned smoothly. Operationally, five offices were rebranded, websites were redirected, email addresses were migrated, and legacy artefacts were retired. At every stage, continuity and reassurance were the guiding principles.
The outcomes of Project Eclipse were significant and measurable.
- Employees: Engagement with communications exceeded 80%, as measured by open rates and surveys. The program created a sense of belonging under the Amdocs brand while celebrating the legacy of Sourced. Employees transitioned to @amdocs.com identities, received Amdocs Studios swag, and participated in regional sunset events, ensuring cultural alignment.
- Customers: Trust was preserved and strengthened through proactive, personalised communications. Not a single client relationship was lost during the transition. On the contrary, the rebrand created new momentum, including the development of a new opportunity with a major transportation prospect invited to the global sunset event.
- Partners: Certifications and competencies with AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud were seamlessly transitioned to the new structure. This safeguarded strategic relationships and reinforced Amdocs’ position as a leading global hyperscaler partner.
- Operations: The rebrand was executed with precision. Five offices across multiple regions were successfully rebranded. System cutovers — including websites, email domains, and collaboration platforms — were completed without downtime. Legacy branding was retired in a controlled and respectful way, ensuring brand clarity across all internal and external touchpoints.
Project Eclipse demonstrates brand management at scale. It was not simply a cosmetic change of logos but a deeply considered program that balanced sensitivity with ambition. For customers, it delivered reassurance and continuity. For employees, it created clarity, engagement, and pride. For partners, it ensured seamless continuity of programs and certifications. And for Amdocs, it established Amdocs Studios as the new platform for growth across cloud, data, AI, and digital transformation.
By phasing the transition over time, aligning internal and external communications, and executing with precision on launch day, Project Eclipse turned a complex global rebrand into a seamless experience. The result was a confident, dignified sunset of the Sourced brand and the emergence of Amdocs Studios — a bold new identity positioned to drive innovation and impact across industries.
